JUST IN - Resident Technician
Greenwich Theatre is looking to appoint a Resident Technician. Part of a small core team at the theatre they will work with the Technical Supervisor on Get In’s and Get Out’s on our numerous shows as well as play a key role in the technical delivery of our annual pantomime.
This is a twelve month post, designed specifically for recent technical theatre graduates within one year of graduation. The post is a rolling one, forming part of the company’s training strategy, so there is not an option for extension at the end of the period but staff will work with the Resident Technician as they approach the end of their contract to support the search for new employment.
The post-holder will be also be supported in taking responsibility for the technical operation of the studio space, whether occupied by visiting productions, in-house productions, rehearsals or commercial hire events. This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their theatre career to gain a lot of practical experience, and at the same time help emerging theatre companies understand the challenges and possibilities of studio performances.
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible between 9am and midnight, Monday to Saturday working 5 days out of 6 with time off in lieu for additional hours, occasional Sunday’s and bank holidays.
Holiday: 25 Days per year pro rata, taken when the operational requirements of the Theatre allow.
Term: This is a full-time permanent contract, subject to 3 probation period.
