Greenwich Theatre is proud to present Fighting Talk, a new monthy spoken word performance to be hosted on the first Monday of every month from October 2019 - January 2020.
Debuting this exciting initiative is Spoken Word for Social Justice - focusing on protest or political spoken word. The evening will be hosted by by local poets Steve Tasane and Mark ‘Mr T’ Thompson and presented in aid of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.
Kidbrooke based Tasane has received wide acclaim for Child I, his moving story of a 10-year-old boy in a refugee camp, while Brockley’s Mr T has shared work at the Paralympics in 2012, on BBC Radio 4 and at poetry events and in schools across London. They will be joined by Usaama Minhas and Kemi Taiwo, both heavyweights of the London scene, while four open mic places will also be available.
