National Theatre Connections

Every year the National Theatre commissions new plays by leading playwrights for young theatre companies all over the country to perform, in the nationwide Connections Festival.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of Connections. 500 youth theatre companies and 10,000 young people from every corner of the UK, working with 41 partner theatres, will perform twelve outstanding plays drawn from the 150 works written for young people since the festival began in 1995.

Connections celebrates great new writing for the stage – and the energy, commitment and talent of young theatre-makers. The companies performing as part of the Greenwich Theatre Connections programme this year are:

WEDNESDAY 16 MARCH

6pm - Ricards Lodge High School - The Musicians by Patrick Marber
8pm - Norwood School - It Snows by Bryony Lavery and Frantic Assembly

THURSDAY 17 MARCH

6pm - Kingsford Community School - Children of Killers by Katori Hall
8pm - Lewisham Southwark College - Blackout by Davey Anderson

FRIDAY 18 MARCH

6pm - Orchard Theatre - Gargantua by Carl Grose
8pm - Riddlesdown Collegiate - Eclipse by Simon Armitage

SATURDAY 19 MARCH

6pm - BRIT School - Bassett by James Graham

SUNDAY 20 MARCH

6pm - Montage Theatre Arts - I'm Spilling My Heart Out Here
8pm - ACT2 Academy - The Musicians by Patrick Marber
