What’s ‘a night less ordinary’ all about?
In London the Almeida Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Bush Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Greenwich Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Royal Court, Soho Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Tricycle Theatre and the Young Vic have all joined together to offer you a choice of truly great nights out at the theatre, and if you're under 26, it's absolutely free!
At Greenwich Theatre this season alone, you can choose from shows by some of the country's finest touring companies, including English Touring Theatre, Trestle Theatre, Tara Arts, Spike Theatre and many more.
How can you get these tickets?
You must be UNDER 26 years old at the time of the show.
Just call us on 020 8858 7755 or call into the theatre (unfortunately free tickets are not available online).
The only condition is that you provide your name, a full UK residential address, your date of birth and/or a mobile phone number or e-mail address when you book (we won’t accept hotel or hostel addresses, just your home address).
We’ll also sign you up to an email or SMS list so that you can get more information about shows and other ticket offers at these theatres.
Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
What happens then?
You’ll need to collect your free tickets on the day of the performance (usually no later than 30 minutes beforehand).
We’ll need to see proof of age for everybody in your booking who’s using a free ticket: this could be a driving licence, a valid passport, a birth certificate, a PASS-approved card, a 16-25 Railcard etc.
Please note that a NUS (or NUS Extra card) will not be accepted as proof of age, as it does not have a photograph on it.
Tickets cannot be transferred to someone else and will only be issued to the person who booked (on production of ID).
If you don’t collect your tickets and haven’t let the theatre know, you may not be allowed to use this scheme at this theatre or the others listed above.
What happens if I want to go to the theatre again?
You can only get one free ticket per year at Greenwich Theatre, but after that you can claim a free ticket at any of the other theatres listed. With twelve theatres, that means you could go to the theatre in London every month of the year absolutely free!
A Night Less Ordinary is an Arts Council England scheme in association with Metro, which will
provide 618,000 free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 in more than 200 venues across England.
